The First Step in the enrollment process is to determine if Families of Faith Christian Academy is the right school for your family.
If you have not reviewed the Educational Philosophy of Familes of Faith Christian Academy, you should do that before proceeding. If we are to work together in the education of your children, it is vital that we are in agreement. Can two walk together, except they be agreed? Amos 3:3
In addition, parents should review the list of approved curriculum providers. There is a balance between "parent directed education" (where parents have the only say in what curriculum is used), and an accredited Christian school that strives to uphold high standards of curriculum content that meet or surpass the standards set by public schools, while promoting a bibilical world view. Parents of high school students should also review the High School Planning Guide for all of the requirements for earning a High School Diploma with a detailed matching of course titles to specific curriculum necessary to properly develop an academic plan. Once we have a transcript, a counseling session with Mr. Lawson, either in person or by phone, is in order.
If you are new to "Parent Directed Education," you should complete the "Orientation to Homeschooling" which has a section dividing each publisher into categories based on the approach they are designed for, including strengths and weaknesses.
Student Tuition 2011-2012:
One student: $475
Two students in the same family: $700
Three students or more in the same family: $825
(Seniors will have an additonal $100 Senior Fee added to their account the year that they graduate.) ($25 discount to the above prices if paid in full by June 17th 2011)
Our yearly tuition is very low, and is due upon enrollmen. However, we understand that many families need the tuition to be broken up into monthly payments. Go to page four of the Family Enrollment Form to set up a payment schedule. Because the setting up of the gradebooks and reviewing transcripts is very time consuming in staff hours, the minimum first payment that is due when paperwork is turned in is as follows:
Returning Family: $150
New Family: $225
The Second Step is to complete the Family and Student Enrollment Forms.
You will need only one family enrollment form regardless of the number of students, and one student form for each student you are enrolling. After you print the forms, you can click on the link for Completing Enrollment Paperwork for details on completing the forms and any additional paperwork that may be required. (Birth Certificate, Immunization Records, etc.)
Please review all of the requirements you are agreeing to before enrolling your students.
The information requested on the Family Application and the Student Enrollment (which includes the curriculum questionnaire) is essential for us to properly enroll your student, document your student’s academic progress, and maintain our accreditation status.
If you are new to Families of Faith, the best practice is for the parents to obtain a copy of the Birth Certificate and Immunization Record, as well as a high school transcript, and then include them with the enrollment forms. Otherwise, as soon as the office receives the Family and Student forms (with payment or payment arrangements detailed on the Family Form), we will send to your student’s previous school to acquire all academic and health records. Occasionally, there are delays in obtaining those records, or a computer printout only is sent without the required health file. In that event, we will notify you with a list of items required. The enrollment process is not complete until the required items are on file. (Immunization DH680, or religious waiver, Birth Certificate and School Entrance Physical, if it is the student's first admission to a Florida School.)
It is the parent’s responsibility to contact the previous school and acquire transcripts of high school credits, an original immunization certificate, and a copy of a birth certificate, if needed. If your student has any high school credits, it is best to visit the previous school first and ask for a printout of all credits (listed by course) to aid in graduation planning with you by our staff.
Student Grade/Attendance Booklet
The Student Gradebook will be mailed as soon as the student's paperwork is processed, and the required minimum payment is met. It provides a customized gradesheet for each student based on the curriculum chosen for each subject. The attendance form is for marking the days a student is in "school" and is to be submitted every forty-five days so report cards can be issued.
