Four Year Graduation Requirements

The normal high school track is four years, the details of which are explained below. Florida has two, three year plans with specific requirements. To compare the programs, go back and click on the 3-Year Graduation Requirements.

Scroll down the page to see specific guidelines by graduation year.

Graduation requirements change based on the option taken and when a student enters high school. The charts below are designed to provide a quick guide to parents and students. Be sure the chart you are using is for the correct graduation year. For more specific information about individual courses, refer to the High School Subject Area Details section.

*Credits below a C in core academic areas are not accepted for credit toward high school graduation or promotion to subsequent grades. This applies to current students and all previous grades and credits of students wishing to transfer to Families of Faith. Total un-weighted GPA of all high school credits must be 2.0 or higher.

* In addition to the standard core course requirements, FFCA high school students are required to complete a minimum of two credits of Bible. (Specifically Intro to Bible I (Old Testament Survey) and Intro to Bible II (New Testament Survey).

See the Bright Futures page for additional requirements necessary to qualify for those scholarships, and complete what is referred to as the "College Preparatory Track."

Standard 4 Year, 24-Credit Program

This program requires students to take 24 credits in the subject areas of:
English: (4)
Mathematics: (4, one must be Algebra I or its equivalent)
For those entering high school in 2010-2011, one must be Geometry
For those entering high school in 2012-2013, add Algebra II to the required list
Natural Science: (3) Two must have a lab component
Entering high school in 2011-2012, one must be Biology
(The standard plan is Physical Science, Biology then Chemistry)
Social Studies: (3) In the case of Social Studies, the courses are specific.
     1 credit World History,
     1 credit American History,
     .5 American Gov't,
     .5 Economics
Performing Fine Arts: (1) courses like art, drama, guitar, band, drawing, painting etc.
Physical Education: (1) to include the integration of health.
Foreign Language: credit is not required for this program, although it is recommended for community college preparation and is required for admission to Florida’s state universities, as well as the Florida Bright Futures Scholarships which requires two in the same language.
Bible: (2) Although Bible is not a standard requirement for Florida Public Schools, because Families of Faith is an accredited school with the FCCPSA, two credits of Bible are also required. The normal is Intro to Bible I (Old Testament Survey) and Intro Bible II (New Testament Survey). Students who enroll during their senior year must still complete at least one Bible credit.

This program requires students to take six elective credits or additional core subject area courses to equal twenty-four total credits.
