Three Year Graduation Requirements
The normal high school track is four years. Florida has two, three year plans with specific requirements that change depending on the year the student entered nineth grade and the graduation track chosen. Be sure the chart you are using is for the correct graduation year.
The charts proided are designed to provide a quick guide to parents and students. For more specific information about individual courses refer to the High School Subject Area Details section.
Accelerated Program Note:
Florida’s three-year programs are designed for students who are clear about their future goals and are ready to pursue their goals beyond high school in an accelerated manner. To select a three-year graduation program, students and their parents must meet with designated school personnel to receive an explanation of the requirements, advantages, and disadvantages of each program option. Students must also receive the written consent of their parents. The Florida public school system requires that the student select the graduation program prior to the end of ninth grade that will best address his/her future, or they will by default track on the four year, 24 credits graduation option.
See the Bright Futures page for additional requirements necessary to qualify for those scholarships and complete what is referred to as the "College Preparatory Track".
